We are looking for a Quality Assurance Manager for a highly technical spray drying facility in Western Kansas. This is a great opportunity to be involved with a collaborative national organization with growth opportunities. This position will manage a team of technicians and a QA Supervisor. Job Responsibilities:
  • Ensure daily plant quality and food safety operations follow company policies, procedures, customer requirements, local, state and federal regulations
  • Responsible for food safety and quality plans along with supporting prerequisite programs
  • Enhance and maintain plant policies, procedures, and practices to safeguard a cGMP environment
  • Through cross functional collaboration assess and maintain an effect plant hygiene plan
  • Ownership of PEM Program utilizing information to ensure holistic management of food safety issues, while implementing effective corrective actions
  • Oversee plant sanitation to drive a robust sanitation program that supports a cGMP environment
  • Ensure the plant pest control programs are current, followed and utilized to enable proactive maintenance
  • Manage the facility’s change control program to enable robust risk assessment and decisions
  • Collaboratively lead investigations relating to non-conforming events driving to root cause and effect resolution. Maintain the CAPA program
  • Serve as point of contact for customer related issues
  • Collaborate with R&D during new/reformulated product introduction
  • Serve as a key member of the plant leadership team
  • Partner with operations to build a world class food safety and quality culture
  • Track and report on plant KPIs
  • Provide training to plant personnel concerning food safety, FSMA and regulatory compliance
  • Oversee the development of cGMP laboratory practices to ensure accurate and precise QC results
  • Perform data analysis to identify critical trends

Required Skills/Qualifications:  
  • Bachelor’s Degree is preferred in food science, biological sciences or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in a food processing environment or pharmaceutical is a must
  • 3+ years experience managing teams
  • Prefer experience in dairy manufacturing
  • Certification or Licenses – HACCP, SQF, PCQI
  • Knowledge of both laboratory and plant cGMPs
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and company computer systems, specifically LIMS, Excel, and ERP
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of supervision, training and personnel management
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Able to manage challenging situations in a professional manner
