Job Purpose:
The Medical Technician is critical to the overall performance and efficiency of the surgery center. This position interacts with all of the various facets of the company, its patients, all center team members and physician offices.

Role and Responsibilities:

The Medical Technician is responsible for knowing the location of equipment and supplies and maintain equipment cleanliness. Stocks surgical supplies, keeps caps, masks, and shoe covers rocked, distributes clean linens to all appropriate areas. Assist patients to urinals, bedpans and emesis basins. Provide basic patient care-patient treatments (application of heat and cold, sterile dressings, incentive spirometry, indwelling catheter care, aspetic preparation of intravenous line and suction tubing, accucheck), monitor intake and output and obtaining and documenting vital signs and reporting any abnormalities to the supervising RN. Initiate CPR and other emergency measures as required. Transfer patients appropriately based on patient condition and procedure. Organizing Home going instructions. Answer telephones and transfer calls to appropriate person if necessary. Perform general delivery services for the facility and run errands as needed. Keep hallways free of clutter. Check/empty sharp containers throughout facility.

Ability to promote favorable facility image with physicians, patients, insurance companies and general public.
Ability to make decisions and solve problem.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED certificate.
Strong ethical and moral character references.
Basic Life Support certification.
Completion of an approved Patient Care Assistant course or certification of completion of an accredited health education program or one year on the job experience and education.
Preferred Skills:
Assistant/medical technician experience.
ASC experience.
