The Challenge:

We are currently seeking a Wire Harness & Cable Assembly Manufacturing Engineer to join our engineering team. The Wire Harness & Cable Assembly Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and reviewing the procedures and equipment involved in the manufacturing production process. Their duties include researching automation techniques, testing new systems for efficiency and planning factory layouts to optimize production. 


What you'll do:

  • Responsible for preparing documentation for a wide variety of cable and harness assemblies.
  • Evaluate quality control processes and make recommendations for improvements in quality control.
  • Analyze production processes, schedules, methods, and other data and then provide management with reports containing the data and statistics to enable management to better understand future requirements needed for the   manufacturing process.
  • Review and calculate labor, material, and other production costs along with reviewing schedules and future production requirements to assist management in decision making.
  • Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency.
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance and repair services and make sure that manufacturer’s procedures and instructions are followed to keep production equipment operational.
  • Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Exercise judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Assist development of detailed layouts for equipment, processes, and workflow.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes, equipment, and products comply with safety standards and legal regulations.
  • Evaluate quality control processes and make recommendations for improvements in quality control.
  • Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Defines bill of materials (BOM) from customer drawings.
  • Provide accurate cost estimates for Request for Quote (RFQ).
  • Work with vendors and customers to select connectors and cables to meet order specifications.
  • Communicate effectively with sales, engineering, manufacturing staff and customers.

What you'll need:
  • Ability to read and understand complex electrical harness wire drawings and schematics.
  • Basic knowledge of cable and harness components, connectors, wires and cables, plus crimping tools, automatic, semi-automatic and hand tools.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 software programs      
  • Excellent communication skills
  • PC literate with experience in AutoCAD (2D) and Solid Works. 
  • Knowledge of advance manufacturing processes and materials
  • Prototype and production experience in cable and wire harnesses is a plus.
  • Basic CNC machining knowledge or willingness to learn.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to effectively work with both internal personnel and customers.
  • Proven record of continuous improvement
Pay Range
$110,000.00   Annually to $120,000.00   Annually
