Principal Electrical Engineer
FTE Direct Hire Role (Will Sponsor H1B)
New Jersey
What you'll do:- Preparation of electronic schematic diagrams and part lists
- Input of product’s mechanical design
- Preparation of component stress documentation charts and computed mean time between failure (MTBF) analyses
- Debug testing and design verification testing of prototypes
- Oversight of product reliability assurance testing
- Responsible for creation and maintenance of engineering documentation (BOM, drawings, ECN etc.) Product cost documentation and assurance of compliance with budgeted costs
- Closely work and share information with teammates and project managers as well as other cross function department
- Support New Product Introduction team and production on project transfer and testing
- Assist with product marketing materials development
- Support sales force when inputs are required on the bidding process.
- Interact directly with Marketing in new standard product development.
- Participate in the training/mentoring of most Jr. members of the engineering team.
- Expected to take leadership in the project or projects he/she is working on.
- Makes decisions on projects.
What you'll need:
- Bachelor’s Degree ins Electrical Engineering or Physics required
- 8 – 10 years of industry related experience
- Knowledge of development activities with electronic power conversion products, preferably with an established history of successful switch-mode power supply designs
- High frequency magnetic component design experience.
- Proficiency in the use of Design aid tools like PSpice and Mathcad
- Experience debugging EMC issues
- Extensive knowledge of components utilized in switch-mode power supply design
- Agency compliance (UL, CSA, VDE, CE) experience
- Ability to design advanced switch-mode power supply products with minimal supervision and guidance.
- Experience in designing switch-mode power supplies for testability and manufacturability.
- Experience in designing microcontrollers to report and control power electronics.
- Leadership skills to drive projects to happen on time
- Good communication and writing skills
Pay Range:
$170,000 - $180,000 Annually
