Busy Urology practice seeking a motivated, enthusiastic Operating Room RN in Fairbanks, AK. We are currently seeking a per diem RN to join our dynamic team one day a week!
ABOUT THE JOB:
Fairbanks Urology is a fast-growing urology practice providing high quality outpatient surgical care to our community at an Ambulatory Surgical Center right in the heart of the Golden Heart City. The center is team-oriented with an emphasis on collaboration. We offer a fun, friendly, patient-centered atmosphere. Covered flight expenses to and from Anchorage are a consideration for the right applicant, with no overnight stay necessary. Per diem (1 day per week – must be available to work on Wednesdays).
OUR PERFECT MATCH:
  • holds an active, unrestricted nursing license in the state of Alaska
  • is a graduate of an accredited nursing program, having earned an associate's degree in nursing or higher
  • has a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • has a current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • has current certification in Operating Room Nursing (CNOR) preferred
  • has a minimum of one year nursing experience, circulating in the operating room, in an inpatient and/or ambulatory surgical center setting
  • has experience with
  • has general, clinical competency in surgical patient care
  • initiates IV's, administers medications, and ensures patient comfort
  • can assess, instruct, and prepare patients prior to surgery and prior to discharge
  • monitors patients' vital signs and other measurements of progress to meet discharge criteria
  • has the ability to act quickly and safely in the event of an emergency
  • demonstrates an aptitude for maintaining pace of abbreviated patient encounters, keeping patient flow to a minimum peri-operative stay
  • exhibits specialized knowledge, skill, and abilities in the fundamentals of peri-operative nursing
  • has the ability to clean, disinfect, and sterilize surgical instrumentation according to ANSI, AAMI, and APIC standards
  • shows a strong respect for other co-workers
  • demonstrates willingness to abide by the practice's protocols, as well as state and federal regulations
  • projects a positive and professional image
