ABOUT THE JOB
Reporting to the CEO, our client has an opening for a Controller. The position will lead all day-to-day operations of the accounting department while ensuring compliance with GAAP and other applicable standards, rules, and regulations. The candidate will also collaborate with various internal stakeholders, including executive-level staff and other department directors, on budgets and financial reporting, as well as external stakeholders, including distributors and hospital accounting departments. This position will develop and maintain accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.

  • Setting processes/policies/auditing etc., that can scale easily with a growing company.
  • Our client is expected to triple in size over the next few years.
  • Currently 2 to 4 reports

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS STATEMENT(S)

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Oversees 2-4 employees responsible for financial reporting, accounting, billing, collections, payroll, and budget preparation.
  • Implements internal control policies and procedures for all financial activities.
  • Oversees employee training programs and identifies training needs.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Coordinates the company’s financial planning, budgeting, and investment activities.
  • Provides financial analysis emphasizing capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
  • Oversees the preparation of periodic financial statements, activity reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets.
  • Ensures reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) or international financial reporting standards.
  • Investigate cashflow requirements and budget discrepancies and report to executive management.
  • Assist the finance team to ensure the accurate and timely processing of daily banking requirements.
  • Analyze inventory valuation and perform inventory transaction accounting.
  • Reviews financial details from past, present, and forecasted operations; identifies development opportunities and improvements that can be made.
  • Provides management with short- and long-term financial objectives and policies.
  • Advises business units on and assists with implementing accounting and budgeting policies.
  • Collaborates with external auditors to provide the information needed for the annual audit for compliance.
  • Work closely with Company’s India operations team on budget and forecasting activities.
  • Maintains knowledge of organizational procedures, federal and state regulations, and accounting standards.
  • Overall responsibilities in statutory tax obligations and governance framework.
  • Collaborate with external tax accountants to ensure all tax filings are submitted accurately and timely.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 7 - 13 years of related experience is required.
  • CPA designation is highly preferred.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent and highly accurate math and accounting skills (GAAP).
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Excellent collaboration, problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Experience with SAP, other large, automated accounting systems, and Intuit QuickBooks Enterprise is required.
  • Must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word.
TECHNICAL SKILLS AND PRIOR EXPERIENCE
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience in financial reporting/general ledger.
