ABOUT THE POSITION
The Sr. Manager, Oracle Production Support is responsible for ensuring that our global Oracle Cloud Systems (ERP, CX, HCM, OTM) are up and running and functioning as expected.
 
The role will manage all support for Oracle, managing resources, systems, controls, and tickets. In addition to ensuring all issues are worked and resolved, will also be responsible for ensuring enhancements are worked and completed.
 
The role will manage internal production support focused BA’s as well as external support resources including offshore.  The role needs to ensure 24 x 7 support and will need to ensure that liaisons to Oracle cloud operations and support are effectively used to resolve issues when needed. This role will also need to ensure all stake holders in the business an IT are kept up to date on key issues, metrics, and overall status of production support.  And be able to ensure a smooth handoff from the Oracle implementation team to production support for each of our go lives. Will also ensure proper escalations happen and that change management processes are properly followed. Must ensure that the staff has a sense of urgency in ensuring key issues are resolved.

  • Provides daily supervision and direction to production support staff
 
Key Activities & Responsibilities
  • Elicit and document requirements and specifications from data end users and subject matter experts.
  • Translate business requirements into a best fit within the data solution and develop processes and documentation that support the implementation of Oracle ERP and supporting solutions.
  • Aid internal customers in implementation issues and communicate when changes to current practices are required.
  • Meet baselined deadlines and manage multiple, dynamic priorities.
  • Analyze current legacy data vs future data requirements understanding and documenting gaps and how those gaps will be addressed for conversions
  • Apply data conversion, development and mapping knowledge and industry best practices in developing Oracle to-be business data processes and procedures.
  • Customizations may be necessary but should be aligned with global design, well documented and follow the SOX change management processes as defined by Corporate SOPs.
  • Provides guidance, training, and technical assistance to system users; and as appropriate.
  • Provides guidance to staff, which includes performing work reviews and performing project management duties.
  • Recommends and architects global data solutions
  • Performs other related duties and projects based on technology and ERP system needs.
 
To be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are:
  •          A BS/BA Degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field or equivalent and/or combination of training and experience as deemed sufficient by management.
  •          10+ years in supporting oracle ERP, CX, HCM, OTM preferably in cloud
  •          5+ years’ managing an Oracle Support organization
  •          Oracle functional support experience
  •          Oracle technical experience a plus
  •          Experience transitioning a system from implementation to ongoing support is a plus
  •          Ability to manage direct and indirect resources
  •          Proven ability to influence, lead teams, and drive change.
  •          Flexible and adaptable in prioritizing workloads, coping with pressures, deadlines, and rapidly changing situations.
  •          Strong communications skills with ability to read, analyze, and interpret business and professional journals or documents, or governmental regulations. In addition, be able to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  •          Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and/or customers.
  •          Customer-oriented, with the ability to represent Astec, technology ideas and systems to non-technical audiences.
  •          Creative thinker, results-oriented, analytical mindset, and a focused problem-solver.
 
Supervisor and Leadership Expectations
Manage direct reports internal and external. Ability to coordinate and facilitate with other internal IT teams, project teams, and business resources.
