Adobe is seeking a Community Engagement Specialist to join our Student Community team and coordinate in person events while amplifying messaging online to the broader student community. The right candidate will be a dynamic person and experienced with event planning while also being a savvy social media marketer/creator. Passion for our audience (higher-ed students and the GenZ community) is a must.
The Student Community team is tasked with increasing use of Adobe applications among college students and the GenZ community. A major way we do this is by creating engaging events and programming that captures our audience's attention, provides an opportunity to have fun creating, and encourages users to amplify their experiences online through social media.
This is a great role for someone who really understands the student and GenZ personas: how to authentically communicate, inspire them to create, and motivate them to share their experiences both in person and online. You'll help execute events from start to finish with your manager, Adobe Student Ambassadors, and Adobe internal stakeholders; you'll target school and local communities and play a key role in ensuring everything runs smoothly. You will be an integral part of social media strategy before, during and after events, working with the Adobe Social Media team, Adobe Student Ambassadors and local school/community organizations.
Here’s how you’ll make an impact on the team:
- Coordinate Events at each of our target schools by communicating with staff, faculty, Adobe Student Ambassadors and school organizations/clubs. Multitasking schedules of classroom/club presentations, workshops, catering, and event materials.
- Support Events with vendors, Adobe staff and Adobe Student Ambassadors. Be present onsite with a positive personality and energy to engage audiences. Assure events run smoothly and represent the Adobe brand.
- Amplify Event messaging before, after and during to maximize visibility amongst the local student community and beyond. Work with the school's marketing department/faculty, Adobe Student Ambassadors, school organizations/clubs and local school influencers. Regularly author original content for all @Adobe and @adobeexpress social platforms: TikTok, Instagram, Twitter.
- Report on events by sharing survey data, event data, feedback, and keeping well-maintained data on our reporting system.
Here’s what you’ll need to be successful in this role:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in marketing, communications, business, education, or another field relevant to any of our creative communities
- At least 2 years of experience coordinating events for 100 or more attendees, with experience managing vendors or working with internal and/or external creative teams
- Understand the ins and outs of social media platforms and how to maximize their reach to our audiences
- Ability to strategize unique and engaging content and how to best deploy it while also being a master at creating it
- Basic comfort level with Adobe creative applications including Photoshop
- Ability to manage a schedule and timeline while remaining flexible and intuitive about the challenges or the "what ifs" always seeing down the horizon and a few steps ahead
- Quick thinker, calm on your feet, and can problem solve creatively for whatever might come your way
- Able to effectively write for both our program audience and our internal stakeholders; you communicate about program performance in meaningful and actionable ways, and you represent the growing scale of our events in exciting presentation materials and reporting
- Detail oriented and can keep track of many tasks both big and small in an organized fashion and prioritize effectively
- Knowledge on data management and new databases creation in AirTable a plus
- Ability to communicate ideas for improvements in process and how we can better organize and promote events
