The Production Planner will be responsible for developing and managing manufacturing schedules, collaborating closely with sales, engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing departments to ensure an efficient production plan. Your primary tasks will include capacity planning, establishing lead times, and overseeing all aspects of the facility's schedule. Additionally, you will play a vital role in leading production meetings and conducting daily schedule update meetings to facilitate effective communication and strategic planning for the facility.

• Schedule production materials and manage projects effectively.
• Analyze production specifications and determine resource requirements.
• Create and maintain production schedules and verify delivery dates.
• Collaborate with departments to communicate schedule updates.
• Implement Visual ERP scheduling and seek process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety rules.
• Prepare and submit reports on production status and performance.
• Promote Astec's core values and achieve set goals for department and company success.

What We Need from You:
• Bachelor's degree preferred, or Associate's degree with 4+ years of planning experience, or 8+ years of experience as a production planner or master scheduler in manufacturing.
• Maintain positive working relationships with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.
• Utilize lean knowledge tools for continuous improvement.
• Strong communication and computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Access, and ERP system knowledge required.
• Exposure to various elements in a shop manufacturing environment, such as moving machinery, tools, fumes, and weather conditions.
• Occasional exposure to dirt, dust, chemicals, and extreme temperatures.
• Loud noise levels consistent with an industrial assembly facility may require hearing protection.
