Downtown Streets Team (DST) is looking for a passionate and outgoing Case Manager at the Rodeway Motel Emergency Shelter site who is ready to help us end homelessness through the dignity of work and the power of community. We run two proven programs in 20 cities that successfully transition the unhoused to self-sufficiency.

SUMMARY:
We’re looking for a full-time Case Manager to work directly with individuals residing in the emergency shelter to help them navigate social services and reduce barriers to self-sufficiency. This may include helping motel guests with employment and housing resources, accessing physical or mental healthcare, accessing legal or financial services, and other goals. You’ll need strong organizational, problem-solving, analytical, and people skills while managing priorities and workflow.


WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Be present onsite at the Rodeway Motel daily, from 8 AM – 4:30 PM, interacting with motel guests, providing a safe and welcoming environment with an emphasis on community building
  • Establish a case load of Motel Guests, and provide compassionate support and assistance to each guest as they work toward achieving their goals on housing, employment, transportation, health, and legal issues
  • Work with guests to facilitate employment readiness workshops, life skills workshops, and various rapport- and community-building activities onsite at the Rodeway
  • Familiarize yourself with all local Yolo County homeless resources and be ready to connect your guests to the services they need
  • Maintain regular appointments and office hours at the Rodeway
  • Support guests in court, at housing related appointments, social service agencies, etc. This may include occasionally providing transportation for guests
  • Establish productive relationships with each and every guest with no bias or prejudice towards race, religion, age, sex, disability, or sexual orientation
  • Utilize any available subsidies and affordable housing units to place clients into housing
  • Work with the Project Manager to promote successful outcomes for guests of the Rodeway
  • Actively document client meetings and update all relevant program data in applicable databases such as Yolo County HMIS and DST Tracker
  • Uphold organizational values, work ethically and with integrity, and follow company policies as laid out in the employee handbook
  • Represent DST in the community, and work with all partner organizations to achieve client goals
  • Actively learn about current resources and services outside of DST that may aid Rodeway Guests in their goals
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager and assist with special projects as required
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
  • Ability to perform job duties with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication skills, with fluency in written and spoken English (salary increase available for bilingual fluency in Spanish)
  • Basic mathematical calculations
  • Problem solving and observation skills
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills with the proven ability to multi-task, prioritize duties, and manage time
  • Works well with others and behaves professionally and ethically
  • Solution-oriented
  • Ability to work in a changing environment
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Valid CA Driver License, reliable vehicle with current insurance, and the ability to travel regularly throughout the local area
  • Physical requirements: sitting, standing, or walking for long periods of time and pushing, pulling and/or lifting up to 25 lbs.

Pay Range
$55,000.00   Annually to $57,000.00   Annually
