OMS Consulting Services, LLC is looking for Assistant (EIT) Environmental Engineers who will assist in conducting design, engineering, regulatory permitting, and construction of remedial solutions for contaminated waste sites, facility demolition, construction and related activities associated with soil and water remediation at industrial sites. In addition will also support and assist in the Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans, Stormwater Pollution Prevention (SWPP) Plans, site audits and regulatory filings and updates. Business conduct must occur in accordance with OMS policies and procedures and be aligned with the goals of OMS.
Location: San Francisco Bay Area / Northern California / Central Valley
Essential Functions:- Task management and technical document preparation for SPCC Plan compliance updates and reviews.
- Task management and technical document preparation for SWPP plans.
- Ability to conduct site compliance walks and accurately document compliance findings for SPCC and SWPP plans.
- Task management of multiple environmental site investigation and remediation construction projects
- Design and engineer remedial systems for ground water treatment, waste immobilization, soil stabilization, shoring, chemical and thermal oxidation, excavation and related remedial solutions.
- Design and engineer stormwater pollution and erosion control and develop plans in accordance with RWQCB requirements (requires California Qualified Storm Water Developer (QSD) certificate)
- Design Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans in accordance with EPA requirements.
- Conduct value engineering, field engineering and review and approve proposed field design changes, red-lines, as-builts and field change orders.
- Develop engineering cost estimates, plans and specifications, take-off sheets, project schedules, and technical proposals.
- Manage assigned tasks and support assigned proposals.
- Develop business and follow-on projects with existing clients through excellent delivery of assigned projects.
- Other duties as assigned by OMS or the client.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental engineering with 1 to 5 years related experience or equivalent.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) required, California Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- QSD or QSP or ability to obtain QSD within 6 months of employment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to resolve problems and to work with stakeholders.
- Proven competence with laptops, tablets, smartphones, and Microsoft Office
- Ability to travel and work outdoors in inclement weather.
- Ability to work occasional overtime and weekends.
- Required to maintain a Class C driver’s license, including participating in Employer Pull Notice Program (EPN), with DMV.
- Conduct a background check, drug screening, and physical exam.
- Approval by Client Representative.
Working Conditions:
Environmental Factors: Indoor and outdoor conditions; exposure to heat, cold, potentially hazardous chemicals, toxic materials; work on/walk on slippery or uneven and potentially mountainous terrain. Noise level is usually moderate.
