ABOUT THE POSITION
The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing projects within the decided-upon budget, timeline, and scope. They will also effectively monitor and present project updates to relevant stakeholders, clients, or project team members.
Key Deliverables- Develop documentation for processes and procedures for Engineering projects based on work orders.
- Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
- Develop a detailed project plan
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
- Ensure resource availability and allocation
- Communicate, monitor, and track progress
Key Activities & Responsibilities- Serves as a single point of contact with customers on assigned projects from initiation of project to completion.
- Obtains critical information from customer such as soil test report, applicable emission limits, verification of scope, and approval of layout in a timely manner consistent with the project schedule.
- Monitors charges of labor, purchased parts, and raw materials to ensure only appropriate charges are accumulated on the project
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
- Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
- Conducts meetings with customer representatives as necessary to ensure the smooth flow of the project and requisite information.
- Ensure resource availability and allocation
- Develop a detailed project plan to track progress
- Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs
- Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques
- Provides information and project direction to Engineering Groups to ensure efficient, correct, and on‑time completion of engineering work.
- Secures the involvement of appropriate Regional Sales Managers and/or Directors whenever change of project scope is necessary.
- Supports Sales and Engineering activities by visiting proposed job sites and collecting information.
- Report and escalate to management as needed
- Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
To be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are:- Bachelor's degree or higher or equivalent combination of education and experience and training
- 5+ years of end-to-end project management experience
- Project management experience with electrical requirements or in the industrial controls field highly preferred.
- Knowledge of mechanical drawings and drafting required.
- Ability to produce field surveys and measurements for new and retro-fit applications required.
- Ability to make AutoCAD layouts required.
- Basic knowledge of asphalt plant electrical and control systems required.
- Experience in the asphalt or construction industry is preferred.
