We are currently recruiting a Seasonal Landscape Construction Tech to work with our Grounds team for the 2024 summer and fall seasons.

The Seasonal Landscape Construction Tech will be a part of the Landscape Operations department at The Dawes Arboretum.  Under the direction of the Landscape Project Manager, the Seasonal Landscape Construction Tech will assist in maintaining the appearance and functionality of outdoors spaces at The Arboretum.

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), non-exempt, seasonal position with an hourly pay range between $15.00 and $16.50.

The position will remain open until filled.



Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide general trails maintenance, construction, and erosion control.
  • Assist with brush hogging.
  • Conduct basic culvert repairs and drainage work.
  • Provide mowing assistance as needed.
  • Assist with landscape construction and installations.
  • Operate a variety of small and large pieces of equipment, including tractors, skid steers, mowers, brush hogs, dump trucks, chainsaws, backhoes, and truck-trailer combinations.
  • Assist in event preparation, including set-up and tear-down.
          

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma/general education degree (GED), or an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able and willing to work outside in all types of weather conditions.
  • Previous experience with landscape equipment and/or farm machinery is a plus.
  • Ability to follow directions and work well with others.
  • Ability to independently perform job requirements in a reasonable amount of time.
  • Must be able to lift in excess of 50 pounds, walk frequently, bend, climb a ladder, stoop, dig, and raise arms above head.
  • Must have a current valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
  • Regular and timely attendance is essential, including the ability to work overtime, evening, and weekend hours as needed.

Pay Range
