Contract or Role Summary: 

  • The IT Master Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing detailed project schedules for IT projects within OBIM and HART systems. This role involves coordinating with project managers, technical leads, and stakeholders to ensure that project timelines are realistic and align with organizational goals. The IT Master Scheduler ensures the effective planning, execution, and monitoring of project schedules, facilitating timely project delivery and resource allocation. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Schedule Development: Create and maintain detailed project schedules using project management tools such as Microsoft Project and Project Online. 

  • Coordination: Coordinate with project managers, technical leads, and stakeholders to gather schedule inputs and ensure alignment with project objectives. 

  • Monitoring and Tracking: Monitor project schedules, track progress, and update schedules to reflect changes in project timelines or resources. 

  • Reporting: Generate regular schedule reports, including Gantt charts, progress updates, and milestone tracking, to communicate project status to stakeholders. 

  • Risk Management: Identify scheduling risks and issues, and work with project teams to develop mitigation strategies. 

  • Integration: Ensure integration of individual project schedules into a master schedule, maintaining an overall view of project timelines and dependencies. 

  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with organizational policies, processes, and standards related to project scheduling and management. 

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving scheduling processes and tools, and implement best practices for project scheduling and management. 

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Experience: Over 5 years of relevant experience in project scheduling for large-scale IT projects, including experience with scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project. 

  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in project management software and tools, including Microsoft Project, Project Online, and other scheduling applications. 

  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in project management or scheduling, such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or PMI-SP (Project Management Institute Scheduling Professional). 

  • Knowledge and Expertise: In-depth understanding of project scheduling principles, methodologies, and best practices. 

  • Education: A bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field, such as information technology, computer science, or project management. 

Preferred: 

  • Advanced Technical Skills: Proficiency in additional project management and scheduling tools, as well as advanced features of Microsoft Project and Project Online. 

  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate project schedules and status to technical and non-technical stakeholders. 

  • Project Management: Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage and coordinate scheduling activities across multiple projects. 

  • Agile Methodologies: Experience with agile methodologies and tools, such as JIRA and Confluence. 

  • Advanced Degrees: A master’s degree or higher in a relevant field, such as information technology, computer science, or project management. 

  • Certifications: Additional certifications in agile methodologies or advanced project scheduling. 

  • Strategic Development: Experience in developing and implementing strategic scheduling plans, including technology roadmaps and innovation strategies. 

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, ensuring collaboration and integration of scheduling activities across various technical domains.
