Position Description: 

 

Technical Instructor provides Military Technicians and Soldiers with maintenance technical guidance and instruction oriented at operator and field-level maintenance sustainment in Automotive, Engineer, Power Generation, Refrigeration, Special Purpose Equipment repair, Technical Inspections and Shop Operations.  

 

Required Qualifications: 

 

  • Five years’ experience working in the automotive and/or heavy equipment maintenance field. 

  • Assist in the management of training plans, development, updating, and managing curriculum.  

  • Demonstrate ability to use and learn technology to enhance teaching and the educational experience when appropriate, and an ability to interpret and evaluate those theories. 

  • Ability to travel for Mobile Training Team (MTT) request, coordinate, and lead courses at different locations.  

  • Assist in the management of all required Test and Evaluation processes. 

  • Read and interpret Army Technical Manuals (TM) and Army Regulations (AR). 

  • Determines training support requirements including facilities, personnel, safety, maintenance, equipment, and required lesson materials to include all training aids and devices. 

  • Responsible for developing, validating, and fielding new courseware as required by customer. 

  • Anticipate logistics problems related to operational, environmental, and human factors. 

  • Analyzes and evaluates design concepts to determine if concepts satisfy support requirements for training platforms.  

  • Prepare Lesson Plans and checks on learning for developed courseware and ability to develop and administer written and practical examinations. 

  • Prepares required supporting documents and reports. 

  • Update courseware and all pertaining Standard Operating Procedures. 

  • Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics. 

  • Adhere to all applicable military/government standards, regulations, and guidelines.  

  • Maintain an accurate inventory of instructional materials and training equipment.  

  • Perform other duties as assigned.  

  • CDL qualified a plus, but not required. 

  • 92A Production Control background a plus, but not required. 

  • Must be able to pass federal background check and obtain Common Access Card (CAC).
