Job Title: Biomedical Equipment Technician Level II or III – Evening Shift
Department: Clinical Engineering
Location: Bangor Maine
Position Type: Full-Time
Shift: Mon-Fri, 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM (40 Hours Per week)
On Call Requirement

Reports To: Biomedical Equipment Technician Supervisor
Job Summary: The Biomedical Equipment is responsible for performing routine and complex maintenance, calibration, and repairs on a wide range of biomedical equipment. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently. The technician will also provide training and support to junior staff and clinical users.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct routine and complex maintenance, calibration, and repairs on biomedical equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions, utilizing schematics and technical manuals.
- Ensure all biomedical equipment meets safety and performance standards.
- Document all maintenance and repair actions in the equipment management system.
- Provide training and support to junior technicians and clinical staff.
- Collaborate with manufacturers and vendors for technical support and equipment updates.
- Participate in the evaluation and implementation of new biomedical equipment.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics, or a related field, or DoD BMET School Graduate, Active AAMI ACI credential.
- Requires 3-5 years of experience repairing, calibrating and performing preventative maintenance on biomedical devices.
- Advanced knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and computer systems.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and equipment management systems.
Certifications:- Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) preferred.
Physical Requirements:- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, bend, and stoop for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
Work Environment: The work environment may involve exposure to hazardous materials and situations that require following safety protocols and wearing protective equipment.Salary Range:
$ 33.65 to $ 38.46
$ 70,000.00 - $ 80,000.00 AnnualizedEvening Shift: 2:00 PM -10:30 PM (40 hours per week, Monday – Friday)
