ABOUT THE POSITION
Create Oracle work definitions, perform time studies, create process charts and documentation, and create and receive purchase requisitions, all with little supervision.

Key Deliverables
• Enter Oracle work definitions, including item routing, delivery locations, and work times.
• Perform time studies on work processes.
• Enter and receive purchase requisitions for shop materials and MRO items.
• Validate and correct completed work orders for exceptions (such as time and material).
• Collaborate with other departments to make sure materials and parts are available when needed and to complete production orders on time.
• Comply with internal polices and industry regulations.

Key Activities & Responsibilities
• Collaborate with all production bays to complete Oracle work definitions related to routing, time, and location information for all jobs and create standards to be used for quality control, production, and job risk assessments.
• Perform data analysis (time studies) and documentation for all processes to help identify bottleneck issues and improve workflow and throughput to resolve problems.
• Communicate with manufacturing to identify opportunities for improvement related to processes, tools, equipment, etc. and make purchase recommendations and standardizations.
• Work to achieve department and company goals by supporting the continued improvement processes through teamwork.
• Respond quickly to priority changes and work well under pressure due to scheduling constraints.
• Continually seek ways to improve processes and workflow to drive positive change.
• Update and improve job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
• Accomplish department and company mission by achieving set goals.
• Promote and educate others on Astec’s Core Values.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Manufacturing Environment

The shop manufacturing environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, machinery, tools and equipment, vibration, fumes or airborne particles, motorized vehicles, welding and machining operations, outside weather conditions, and exposure to the risk of electric shock. The employee may occasionally be exposed to varying levels of dirt, dust, toxic or caustic chemicals, and very warm and chilly temperatures. The noise level in the shop can be very loud at times, consistent with an industrial assembly facility and may require hearing protection.
