Position: Environmental Scientist 2
Industry: Environmental Compliance / Engineering
Location:  Remote
Compensation: $51,000 – $63,000 depending on qualifications experience

Apex’s Rockies Division is expanding the water resources group and is looking for a Scientist 2.  The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail orientated and has the people and technical compliance skills needed to support client projects.

Your Responsibilities as an Environmental Scientist 2:

  • Prepare environmental regulatory compliance permits and reports including stormwater (construction, industrial, and MS4), SPCC, and dewatering. 
  • Analyze and interpret field inspection records, stormwater and SPCC diagrams and stormwater control measure maintenance items.
  • Review environmental legislation and regulations and determine impact on client activities.
  • Travel for remote project needs, when necessary, less than 5%.
  • Permit projects, facilities, and operations for transportation and warehousing, construction, oil and gas, renewable energy, building management, and municipal clients.
  • Define and develop your own professional growth with mentoring from senior managers.
What we’re looking for:
  • BS in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or another related field.
  • 4+ years of professional experience in consulting or industry.
  • Experience conducting stormwater inspections, monitoring, and sampling. 
  • Experience researching, reviewing, and guiding compliance with environmental regulations at a Federal, State and Local level; including SPCC, NPDES & discharge permitting.
  • Experience permitting and regulatory compliance report development for stormwater.
  • Ability to successfully multi-task and problem solve while maintaining quality and manage your own time. 
  • Strong communication skills, and collaborative work ethic.
  • Strong safety awareness, and an understanding of safe work practices.
  • Excellent writing and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite are required.
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving history are required.
