Title:  Behavior Therapist – Registered Behavior Technician
Reports to:  Clinical Director of the ABA Program
Department:  603- ABA Program
Location: Culver City, CA
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Compensation: $ 22.00 - $ 26.00 /hr​​​​
Program Hours: Based on Clients’ Needs: Mon – Fri 1:00 PM – 5:30 PM
Supervisory Responsibility: None


Position Summary

A behavior therapist is a paraprofessional who implements behavior change interventions under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst.  A Registered Behavior Technician is primarily responsible for direct 1:1 implementation of treatment plans related to skill acquisition and behavior reduction as well as data collection procedures. Skills targeted typically include communication, social, and daily living skills along with any other skills which make a socially significant change in the child’s individual, family, and community life.  A behavior therapist also provides support and feedback on session structure and practicality of program implementation. Children served vary in ages and are mostly diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder or other developmental disabilities.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
 
  • Implement behavior plans with fidelity. 
 
  • Collect data and daily notes documenting child’s progress. 
 
  • Work with supervisor (give and receive feedback) on program implementation.
 
  • Attend trainings and required safety webinars.
                 
Other Duties
 
  • Attend team trainings and supervision sessions. 
  • Comply with ECF’s Injury and Illness Prevention Program.  Ensure safe use and operation of tools and/or equipment.
  • Comply with ECF policies and procedures, including mandated reporting requirements.
  • Regular, reliable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
 
Education/Licenses/Certifications: Associate degree in education, psychology or related field (may substitute experience for a degree. See below).  Registered Behavior Technician Certification a plus!

Experience: With an associate degree, six months working with individuals with developmental disabilities.  Without a degree, two years working with individuals with developmental disabilities.

Knowledge/Abilities/Skills:
 
  • Working knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis and/or experience with implementation of other behavioral programs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and follow instructions of supervisor.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Maintain a professional image and courteous demeanor.
  • Obtain and maintain Registered Behavior Technician Certification (training provided by company) within 6 months of employment.
  • Obtain and maintain NCI, First Aid, Mandated Reporter, and CPR certification.
 
Requirements
 
  • Valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation, evidence of car insurance, and insurable driving record. Motorcycles are not permitted while driving for ECF, may only be used when commuting to and from your home to main worksite. If using public transportation only, driving requirements do not apply.
  • Pass a Department of Justice background investigation.
  • Provide evidence of a negative TB test initially and every three years thereafter.
  • Provide evidence of COVID-19 Vaccinations

Work Environment


Work is conducted in the center. Employee may encounter individuals who are engaging in loud, repetitive, or aggressive behaviors varying in intensity and duration.  Employee will have access to safeguards to ensure protection of self and child as well as continuous support from supervisors.

Pay Range
