Job Title: Senior Data & Software Engineer
Reports to: Head of Innovation and Consumer Technology
Location: Atlanta - Hybrid
FLSA Status: Exempt
SUMMARY:
As the Senior Data and Software Engineer at UP Entertainment, you will be at the forefront of advancing our technological vision and strategy. This role requires technical expertise to develop innovative solutions that drive operational efficiency, enhance customer experiences, and support our growth objectives. You will collaborate cross-functionally, architect scalable solutions, and ensure the integration of secure, privacy-first data insights. Your deep knowledge in software architecture, data and analytics engineering, cloud computing, and security will be critical in guiding our technology projects and influencing key decision-making processes. Reporting to the Head of Innovation and Consumer Technology, the position also encompasses various projects, including ETL tasks, data analysis, data modeling, monitoring, quality assurance, security, automation, AI and reporting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:- Cross-functional Collaboration: Working with various teams throughout UP Entertainment, execute a comprehensive technology strategy that leverages data analytics and innovative solutions utilizing automation, machine learning and A.I. to drive business value and stay ahead of industry trends.
- Solution Architecture: Architect scalable, robust solutions that address business challenges, ensuring the integration of secure, privacy-first data insights to enhance decision-making and operational efficiency. Design and manage RESTful services and APIs to support cross-platform optimization for web and mobile applications.
- Subscription Management: Improve and maintain the subscription stack which includes payment gateways, subscription management, and middleware solutions to enhance decision-marking and operational efficiencies.
- Project Guidance: Collaborate cross-functionally on technology projects with Marketing, Research, Stream among other teams, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives. Act as a technical advisor, fostering a culture of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and innovation.
- Process Optimization: Identify and implement process improvements within the technology domain, leveraging data insights to drive enhancements. Advocate for and uphold best practices in data security, data governance, analytics, and system integration.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with key stakeholders to translate business needs into technology solutions. Provide strategic and technical guidance to influence decision-making and drive the organization’s technological advancements.
- Technical Expertise: Maintain and apply deep technical expertise in software architecture, data and analytics engineering, cloud computing, and security. Ensure our technology stack includes leading solutions for customer data management platforms such as Segment, cloud computing, business intelligence, desktop and mobile measurement/attribution, and metadata management.
- UPskilling: Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, continuously evaluating and integrating new tools and methodologies to ensure our technology remains competitive and cutting-edge.
- Design & Development: Design and implement the development of functional databases, applications, and servers to support backend operations for web and mobile apps and middleware applications. Develop front-end architectures, translating designer mock-ups into back-end and potentially front-end code.
- Non-Functional Requirements: Ensure non-functional requirements such as security, performance, maintainability, scalability, usability, and reliability are thoroughly considered and integrated into all architectural designs.
- Documentation and Reporting: Manage and create comprehensive documentation for processes, updates, and periodic reports. Present findings and updates to cross-functional teams and executive management, ensuring clarity and actionable insights when required.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field with 5+ years of relevant experience is required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or a related technical field is preferred.
- Industry-recognized certifications in cloud computing (such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Google Cloud Professional Architect), data analytics, software development, or cybersecurity is a plus.
- Education or training in project management methodologies (such as PMP or Agile certifications) for leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects is a plus.
- Prior experience in the entertainment industry is a plus.
SKILLS- Oral & Written Communications: Exceptional, written, and oral communication skills. Communicates well one on one, in small groups and larger presentations, including external public speaking. Writes clear, precise, well-organized documents using appropriate vocabulary, grammar, and wording.

TECHNICAL SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, in addition to the skills in the Education/Experience noted above an individual must be proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Google Workspace and the following below:
- Preferred experience with solutions and database architecture engineering, business intelligence tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Mode), data analysis, ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load), and workflow automation.
- Strong experience with content management tools such as WordPress or Drupal is an advantage.
- Extensive experience in software development, system architecture, and data engineering.
- Proficiency in Python/PHP, and other relevant programming languages.
- Efficiency in Node.js, React JS or other relevant JS frameworks is an advantage.
- Strong skills in cloud computing environments, specifically AWS and Google Cloud.
- Expertise in SQL query writing, database schema creation, and data transformation.
- Experience with subscription management tools such as Chargebee/Recurly, Stripe, and PayPal
- Proficiency in designing and managing RESTful services and APIs.
- Proficiency in working with and managing the Model-View-Controller (MVC) or Model-View-Presenter (MVP) framework.
- Deep understanding of customer data management tools like Segment.io.
- Experience with business intelligence tools such as Looker for data visualization and decision support.
- Analytical skills to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
- Experience implementing privacy-first data strategies and ensuring compliance with data governance standards.
