Job Summary: The Landscape Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing QE Solar’s landscape maintenance activities for utility-scale and C&I Solar/BESS projects across the US. The Landscape Maintenance Manager will ensure that the landscape maintenance crews perform their tasks in a safe, efficient, and professional manner, in compliance with QE Solar's standards and contractual obligations. The Landscape Maintenance Manager will also coordinate with other departments, such as Field Operations, Engineering, and Commercial Assets to ensure the optimal performance and reliability of the Solar/BESS plants.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities (%)
  • Manage and supervise the landscape maintenance crews, including hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, and disciplining. (40%)
  • Develop and implement landscape maintenance plans, procedures, equipment procurement & maintenance plans, and best practices for each Solar/BESS project, in accordance with QE Solar's policies and contractual requirements. (20%)
  • Monitor and inspect the quality and safety of the landscape maintenance work and provide feedback and corrective actions as needed. (15%)
  • Prepare and maintain landscape maintenance records, reports, and budgets, and ensure timely and accurate invoicing and billing. (10%)
  • Communicate and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, such as project managers, site managers, engineers, clients, vendors, and regulators, to ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of the Solar/BESS plants. (10%)
  • Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulations related to landscape maintenance for solar projects, and provide recommendations for improvement and innovation. (5%)
Knowledge Knowledge of: landscape maintenance principles, practices, and techniques for utility-scale and C&I Solar/BESS projects – or – commercial landscaping/mowing experience with other renewables, commercial projects of scale, or generally large projects that contain sophisticated or specialized equipment; safety and environmental regulations and standards for landscape maintenance; budgeting, accounting, and financial management for landscape maintenance.
Skills Skills in: Managing and leading landscape maintenance crews and projects; planning, organizing, and coordinating landscape maintenance activities and resources; monitoring, inspecting, and evaluating landscape maintenance work and quality; problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making for landscape maintenance issues and challenges; communication, negotiation, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders; computer software and applications for landscape maintenance management and reporting; sense of urgency; regular communications; consistent follow-up.
Abilities Ability to: work independently and as part of a team; work under pressure and meet deadlines; adapt to changing priorities and situations.
Physical Requirements Lift, carry, and operate landscape maintenance equipment and tools. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer). Ability to lift equipment up to 50lbs.
Working Conditions Work outdoors in various weather and terrain conditions; The ability to operate machinery, work in noisy environments, or have close visual acuity
Required Education High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Education Bachelor's degree in horticulture, landscape management, or related field.
Required Experience Three years of experience in landscape maintenance for commercial landscaping/mowing experience with other renewables, commercial projects of scale or generally large projects that contain sophisticated or specialized equipment. One year of experience in supervising and managing landscape maintenance crews and projects.
Preferred Experience Five years of experience in landscape maintenance for utility-scale and C&I solar projects.  Three years of experience in supervising and managing landscape maintenance crews and projects.
Required Certifications, Licensures, Etc. Valid driver's license
Preferred Certifications, Licensures, Etc. Certified Landscape Professional (CLP) by the National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP).  Certified Landscape Technician (CLT) by the Professional Landcare Network (PLANET).
