The Dawes Arboretum has an immediate need for a Landscape Construction Tech to assist our Landscape Operations & Facilities department in maintaining and enhancing the appearance and functionality of outdoor spaces at The Arboretum. This is a full-time, year-round, non-exempt position.

Some of the specific responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
- Assist in general trails maintenance, construction, sign installation and erosion control.
- Complete basic culvert repairs and drainage work.
- Assist with landscape construction and installations.
- Operate and maintain a variety of small and large pieces of equipment to include but not limited to tractor, skid steer, mower, brush hog, dump truck, chainsaw, backhoe and truck-trailer combination.
- Provide mowing assistance as needed and assist with brush hogging.
- Assist in event preparation, including set-up and tear-down.
- Serve as a member of the Emergency Response team.
- Assist with snow and ice removal, as well as clean-up of storm damaged trees.
- High School diploma or General Education degree (GED); or an equivalent combination of education, training, and education.
- Two (2) years of demonstrated work experience in landscape construction; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license and evidence of insurability.
- Ability to work in all types of weather conditions.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.

The hourly rate of pay for this position is $16.50-$19.00.
