The Lactation Network is hiring a Senior Software Engineer. TLN’s vision is to build enterprise-wide systems that serve both our customers and our internal users. The Senior Software Engineer will be a key driver in the design and implementation of new features within our company. Along with maintaining the day-to-day functionality of our systems, you’ll have a large influence on developing and improving them. Reporting to the Technical Lead, this role will work alongside a small in-house team of technical professionals.

Breakdown of the role
  • New Application Development (60%). You'll be the primary person to develop new applications and features.
  • Application Maintenance (25%). The Software Engineer will maintain and enhance existing software systems.
  • Requirements Gathering (15%). The position will collaborate with technical and non-technical business stakeholders to gather, document and design software systems.
What you’ll do
With your deep knowledge and understanding of software development, you’ll work with our technology team and product owners to design and implement new features and systems. Additionally, you’ll work to stabilize our systems as needed.
  •  Design, develop, and implement software solutions using C#/.NET, Node.js
  • Build and test integrations with Salesforce, NetSuite and other products
  • Collaborate with other teams to define software requirements and deliverables
  • Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code that follows industry best practices
  • Debug and troubleshoot software issues and perform root cause analysis.
  • Write and maintain technical documentation for software design, architecture, and development
  • Stay up to date with the latest technologies, tools, and industry trends, and propose new ideas to improve our software development process
  • Participate in sprint planning and other team activities to ensure software quality and timely delivery.
  • Build and maintain microservices
  • Design and implement data solutions using various technologies, including relational and NoSQL approaches
What we expect from you
  • 6-10 years of experience as a software engineer with strong architectural knowledge
  • Expertise in C# and/or Node.js
  • Experience working with AWS and/or Azure​​​​​​
  • Advanced understanding of integrating with other systems
  • Experience building microservices
  • Preferred relational and NoSQL database experience
  • Agile mindset
  • Ability to guide and mentor on TDD, dependency injection and mocking
  • Understanding of a continuous integration environment.
