@Orchard LLC is supporting a growing Federal Contractor with a depth of capabilities in Data Analytics, Data Management, IT Infrastructure, Change Management, and other related solutions, supporting the Department of Defense. Our client is teamed in support of a critical modernization initiative under the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment (OUSD-A&S). The OUSD A&S Acquisition Data and Analytics (ADA) division serves as the functional lead for establishing an Analytic Framework to support “Data-Driven Decisions”. Advana, the Department of Defense’s big data platform for advanced analytics, is the primary tool utilized by ADA to make data discoverable, understandable, and usable for advanced analytics.

As the AWS Platform Security Engineer & Administrator, you will manage AWS services in support of the critical cloud infrastructure for the program, with an emphasis on Identity Access Management (IAM). You will work in a complex customer environment requiring a flexible mindset, and a solution-oriented approach to problem solving. This is a unique opportunity to interact directly with senior-level customers, be empowered to demonstrate your AWS expertise, and make a direct impact on the DoD mission.

You will be responsible for the following tasks:
  • Manage all AWS services including IAM, KMS, and S3, supporting the cloud infrastructure.
  • Support and maintain the package mirror through demonstrated capabilities in Python and Linus.
  • Utilize Bash scripting and coding for troubleshooting and the efficient execution of key tasks.
  • Be responsible for supporting the Identity Management environment including writing policies, and managing users and roles.
  • Maintain and enforce S3 permissions and policies.
Your background will include:
  • An active or interim DoD Secret Security Clearance is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject.
  • Hold a current DOD 8570 certification
  • Demonstrated expertise supporting an AWS Cloud environment with a particular emphasis on IAM policies, procedures, and technology.
  • Demonstrated capabilities in Python and Linux associated with supporting a package mirror.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of scripting and coding using Bash, for troubleshooting and task execution.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including prior examples of writing policies and procedures for users.
  • Prior Advana program experience is a plus.
