Start Date: As soon as possible

Salary Range: $55,000 - $60,000 plus competitive benefits package 

Level/Salary Grade: Subject Matter Expert (Intermediate) / B 

The Role 

The Union for Reform Judaism’s (URJ) Business Strategy & Management team seeks a Financial Operations Coordinator as a central resource, support, and strategic organizer for business management. Coordinating with teams and financial operators across the URJ, this role supports the seamless implementation of consistent financial processes and systems and the analysis and strategic use of URJ’s donor-restricted funds. Overall, the Financial Operations Coordinator expands the capacity of URJ financial operations, improving internal integration, and identifying areas for optimizing org-wide efficiencies. 

What You Will Do 

The Financial Operations Coordinator reports to the Director of Strategic Initiatives – Finance and is responsible for the following: 

  • Coordinate and support the network of financial operators from Camps and Immersives Home Teams in partnership with other functional experts. Serve as a central point of contact and gather network bi-weekly. Create meeting agendas and ensure financial processes are communicated to ensure efficient effective consistent use of tools and resources.  

  • Maintain finance intranet site.  Respond to staff needs and support organizational growth, consistent financial practices, and shared language among home teams by developing and implementing easy-to-access and user-friendly tools, resources, and information.  

  • Support, and as needed, scope and execute Business Strategy projects staying on budget and schedule.  

  • Support Business Strategy, Finance, and URJ org-wide priorities. With a focus on finance and program operations, offer additional capacity throughout the organization during peak times.  

  • Ensure systems and resources are up to date with accurate financial codes to support budgeting and allocation of expenses. Work across the organization to support and improve existing and future operations. 

  • Ongoing financial analysis and reporting of restricted funds.

  • REDI Experience (Racial Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion). Demonstrated experience or willingness to prioritize URJ Racial Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion (i.e., ableism, LGBTQIA+ Inclusion, antiracism, etc.) priorities. Willingness to seek out voices from diverse backgrounds to build ideas and make decisions. Prioritize outreach to multi-racial, marginalized communities. Plan and budget through a REDI lens using URJ resources.

  • Ideal candidate has a minimum of three years’ experience in financial operations and/or project management.
