Job Summary
The Accounts Payable Specialist works with Wego’s Accounting department to oversee our organization’s expenses. These individual processes payments, validates invoices, and performs account reconciliations as needed. The Accounts Payable Specialist ensures Wego’s expenditures are correct, and our accounting procedures are consistent throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Charge expenses to accounts and cost centers and screen petty cash spending.
  • Authenticate vendor accounts, pay vendors, and resolve purchase order, invoice, or payment discrepancies.
  • Issue purchase order amendments and stop payments.
  • Monitor payroll expense claims, including salary advances and overtime payments.
  • Reconcile account transactions with the general ledger.
  • Perform various clean-up activities in the AP subledger across multiple business units.
  • Recordkeeping and preparing financial reports.
  • Remain current with regulatory requirements and best practices in accounting.
Key Qualifications
  • Demonstrated work experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist or similar role.
  • Expertise in accounting and business management software.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounts payable principles, accounting standards and industry regulations.
  • Extensive experience in account reconciliation.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional collaboration and communication abilities.
  • Relevant training and/or certifications as an Accounts Payable Specialist.
