Description
The Lactation Network is hiring a Software Engineer I. We are looking for someone with a solid understanding of the software development process who can support existing and new functionality across a wide technical stack, for our various systems across the entire organization. This role will report into our Technical Lead and work alongside a small in-house team of technical professionals.

TLN’s vision is to build enterprise-wide systems that serve both our customers as well as our internal users. The Software Engineer I will be an important player in the future of our organization. Along with maintaining the day-to-day functionality of our systems, you’ll have an impact on how we handle complexity throughout the organization. You will be a key component in maintaining the stability of our current systems as well as on new projects.

Breakdown of the role
With your knowledge and understanding of software development, you’ll work with our business team and product owners to maintain existing systems and implement new features. Additionally, you'll stabilize our systems as needed. 
  • Application Maintenance (60%). – The Software Engineer I will maintain and enhance existing software systems.
  • New Application Development (30%). – This role will be responsible for developing new applications and features.
  • Team Planning (10%). – The Software Engineer 1 will work with technical and non-technical team members to provide clarity and correctness in requirements and engineering. 

What you’ll do
  • Maintain existing systems, diagnosing and repairing issues.
  • Implement software solutions using C#/.NET, Node.js and Salesforce
  • Maintain and test integrations with Salesforce, NetSuite, and other products.
  • Collaborate with other teams to define software requirements and deliverables.
  • Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code that follows industry best practices.
  • Debug and troubleshoot software issues and perform root cause analysis.
  • Write and maintain technical documentation for software design, architecture, and development.
  • Stay up to date with the latest technologies, tools, and industry trends, and propose new ideas to improve our software development process.
  • Participate in sprint planning and other team activities to ensure software quality and timely delivery.
  • Maintain and enhance data solutions using various technologies, including relational and NoSQL approaches.

What we expect from you
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 0-2 years of experience in any of C#, Node.js, JavaScript or Typescript
  • Comfortable working with either AWS or Azure
  • Understanding of integrating with other systems
  • Relational database experience

Additional skills we would love to see:
  • Experience working with REST APIs
  • An understanding of architectural patterns such as entity service bus and microservices.
  • Development experience integrating with products such as Salesforce
