Junior Test Engineer (Manual/Automation)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated Junior Test Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of both manual and automated testing and be eager to learn and grow in a dynamic environment. This role involves assisting in the development and execution of test plans, identifying defects, and ensuring the quality of our software products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design, development, and execution of test plans and test cases for both manual and automated testing.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and other stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, Robot Framework, and JMeter.
  • Perform manual testing to validate software functionality and identify defects.
  • Create and maintain detailed test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
  • Track and report on testing progress, defects, and overall quality metrics.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to testing with guidance from senior test engineers.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in testing.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of software testing methodologies and best practices.
  • Familiarity with test automation tools such as Selenium, Robot Framework, and JMeter.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Ruby, Python, Java, or JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Certification in software testing or related technologies.

Vetting:
 Candidates selected are subject to a background investigation from our government client. 

Compensation:
$70,000 annually, plus benefits.
