Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Shipping and Receiving Coordinator to join our team. This role will be responsible for various tasks related to receiving, storing, organizing, picking, packing, and shipping goods within our warehouse facility. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess strong organizational skills, and demonstrate a commitment to safety and quality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Accepting deliveries from suppliers, verifying the accuracy of shipments against purchase orders, and inspecting goods for damage or defects.
- Properly storing received goods in designated storage areas, ensuring that items are organized and easily accessible for retrieval.
- Packaging items securely for shipment and affixing shipping labels and documentation to packages.
- Coordinating outbound shipments, scheduling pickup and delivery times with carriers, and preparing shipping documentation such as bills of lading.
- Conducting quality checks on outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with customer requirements and company standards.
- Communicating with internal departments, suppliers, and carriers to resolve shipment discrepancies, address issues, and provide status updates on shipments.
- Maintaining accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipments, including packing slips, receipts, and delivery confirmations, and archiving records for future reference.
- Recording received items into inventory systems, updating inventory records to reflect incoming stock, and ensuring accuracy of inventory counts.
- Retrieving items from inventory based on customer orders or internal requests and ensuring that the correct quantities and products are picked.
- Adhering to safety protocols and regulations in handling and storing hazardous materials, as well as ensuring compliance with shipping regulations and international trade laws.
- Identifying opportunities for process improvements in shipping and receiving operations, implementing best practices, and contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the supply chain.
