Key Responsibilities:

• Direct traffic using flags, signs, and verbal instructions to guide vehicles safely through or around work zones.
• Set up, monitor, and maintain traffic control devices, such as cones, barriers, and road signs.
• Communicate with construction crews and other traffic control personnel to coordinate work site needs and traffic flow.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and traffic control plans to minimize accidents and delays.
• Monitor traffic and report any hazards or unsafe conditions to supervisors immediately.
• Assist with setting up and breaking down roadwork areas, including barricades, signage, and other equipment.
• Provide clear instructions to drivers and pedestrians, ensuring they follow designated routes and safety procedures.
• Maintain awareness of weather conditions and adjust traffic control measures as necessary for safety.
• Remain alert and focused for extended periods, managing high volumes of traffic in often fast-paced or noisy environments.
• Assist in ensuring the safety of both crew members and the public around active construction sites.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid US Drivers License 
• Ability to stand for long periods and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to give clear, concise instructions.
• Attention to detail and a high level of focus to ensure safety at all times.
• Physical ability to lift and move traffic control devices, cones, and signs as needed.
• Prior experience in a traffic control or construction environment is a plus.
