Description
The Lodge at Historic Lewes is a Senior Living Community catering to Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care Residents.  We are looking to hire an experienced Business Office Manager who will play a key role in the continued development and operation of our community.

This position will be responsible for the Community financial operations, billing, accounts payable/receivable, collection activities, department expenditures and will ensure compliance with all federal, state and local financial regulatory requirements.

General Day to Day Responsibilities Include…
  • Assists in the preparation of the annual financial budget, annual audit schedules, tax reports/payments, any state required reports/payments and maintains all resident, vendor and financial accounting files.
  • Processes monthly financials statement and prepares/monitors all billing and collection processes and reporting
  • Oversees cash controls including the depositing and posting of cash receipts and implementing and monitoring controls over petty cash and maintains daily cashbooks for operational accounts, prepare monthly bank reconciliation and monitors/oversees the processing of accounts payable.
  • Ensures appropriate assignment of departmental expenses with supporting documentation
  • Coordinates the payment of insurance, real estate taxes and related reporting requirements.
  • Prepares and enters journal entries and maintains appropriate sub schedules for Balance Sheet accounts.
  • Oversees preparation and maintenance of resident files, records and interfaces with residents on billing/collection issue; creates set-up and oversight for Health Center resident’s/patient’s private accounts and prepares necessary reports to adhere to State, Local and Federal guidelines.
  • Oversees Team Member payroll and paperwork including new hire and Change forms,  
  • Manages staff effectively and takes responsibility for subordinate activities; makes self-available to staff; provides regular performance feedback; develops subordinates' skills and encourages growth.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
The Right Candidate Should Have..

Education/Experience:
Associate's Degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school with at least one year related work experience

Computer skills:
Microsoft Office including Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Publisher; Internet; Accounting Software (QuickBooks); Contract Management Systems; Payroll Systems; Human Resource Systems; Development Software; Manufacturing Software; Design Software; Inventory Software; Order Processing Systems; Project Management Software;

Other Qualities:
Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally in the primary language of the residents.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions to practical situations probability, statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid

Must demonstrate an interest in working with a senior population.

Ability to Interact with guests, residents and staff in a courteous and friendly manner, respond promptly to resident needs and common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
