Job Summary: Our operating unit provides construction services, and we are looking for Field Technician to join our team. We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Field Technician to join our team, specializing in Multi-Dwelling Units (MDUs) within the Outside Plant (OSP) sector. The Field Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of telecommunications systems specifically in MDU environments, which include apartment complexes, condominiums, and other high-density residential properties. This role involves working closely with property managers and residents to ensure seamless and high-quality service while maintaining compliance with OSP standards and regulations.
Job Responsibilities: **OSP Installation and Service for MDUs:** - Install and maintain fiber optic and coax infrastructure, including cabling, terminals, and network equipment within MDU properties. - Ensure proper routing and distribution of cables throughout multi-unit buildings, both in common areas and within individual units as necessary. - Perform splicing, testing, and troubleshooting of OSP cabling for both new installations and upgrades, ensuring reliable connectivity for residents. **MDU-Specific Troubleshooting and Repair:** - Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair connectivity issues within MDU environments, addressing signal losses, outages, and physical infrastructure problems. - Utilize specialized tools to locate and resolve faults specific to MDU wiring layouts, such as fiber optic termination points and splitters in shared areas. - Work directly with property managers and residents to provide updates, coordinate access to units, and ensure minimal disruption during repairs. **Documentation and Reporting:** - Document installation, testing, and repair activities for each MDU in line with company and regulatory standards. - Maintain detailed records of work completed, including unit-specific diagrams, material usage, and test results for compliance and future reference. - Update network diagrams for each MDU as modifications or upgrades are completed. **Safety and Regulatory Compliance:** - Adhere to OSHA and company safety guidelines for working in MDU settings, ensuring the safety of residents and team members. - Ensure all work is compliant with building codes, property requirements, and industry regulations related to MDUs, including right-of-way and pole attachment standards where applicable. **Customer and Property Management Interaction:** - Maintain professional communication with property managers to facilitate access, obtain necessary permissions, and address property-specific requirements. - Provide technical guidance to residents as needed to troubleshoot or understand service installations. - Collaborate with other teams, such as construction and engineering, to complete installations, upgrades, and repairs in MDUs.

High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in telecommunications preferred.
2+ years of experience in telecommunications, with a focus on Outside Plant (OSP) work in MDUs preferred.
Proven expertise in fiber optic and coax splicing, testing, and MDU-specific installation.
Familiarity with OSP standards and tools, as well as building codes and MDU regulatory requirements.
Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting MDU building plans and OSP network diagrams.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Physical requirements:
Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and outdoors as needed.
Ability to stand, bend, and work for extended periods in MDU settings.

Previous experience in the telecom, utility, construction, and/or engineering industry
