The Marketing Coordinator assists in developing materials for a wide range of council activities and audiences; monitors incoming marketing requests and due dates; performs some graphic design; assists in web site maintenance and other digital communications; helps with administrative tasks and other additional projects as needed. This position appropriately represents the Girl Scout brand at all times and works closely with the Director of Marketing & Communications, the entire MarComm team, and all Girl Scouts of Western Ohio departments to support the council’s marketing and communication efforts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  1. Assist in development, delivery and inventory of GSWO's branded content:
    • Print and digital collateral such as brochures, manuals, posters, and more
    • Social media, web, digital content
    • Create digital forms (JotForms, web-to-lead forms)
  2. Assist in maintaining and improving GSWO’s digital media (web, blog, email) .
    • Make content updates; upload approved content
    • Maintain branding and content (office closures, staff changes, shop hours, etc.)
    • Video editing, as needed
    • Track & pull data, as requested
  3. Assist in GSWO’s storytelling and media efforts.
    • Draft media releases
    • Monitor and catalogue media stories
    • Assist Director of Marketing with public relations tasks
    • Assist in maintaining GSWO’s story library
  4. Ensure MarComm and Business Support team operates efficiently.
    • Monitor incoming marketing requests, route appropriately, follow up on due dates
    • Tracking and recording department financials, invoices, and requisitions
    • Digital file organization: photos, GSUSA materials, etc.
  5. Work with external print vendors to ensure proper production and timely delivery of assets.
  6. Participate and collaborate fully in MarComm and Business Support team efforts, including cross-training and providing back-up support to ensure comprehensive marketing and communications coverage.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. This role offers a hybrid work option to support work-life balance (minimum 3 days at work site, up to 2 days remote after training period).

TRAVEL
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although occasional out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in marketing, journalism, communications, public relations or equivalent education or experience; or any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Strong writing and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively
  • Strong attention to detail: excellent proofreading and data management abilities
  • Demonstrated knowledge, understanding, and skill in Adobe Creative Suite, including Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and/or Adobe Premiere
  • Able to set priorities and adapt to rapidly changing situations; meeting commitments in a timely manner while staying focused under pressure
  • Ability to work well in team environment and communicate with individuals at all levels in the organization, as well as external vendors, partners and volunteers
  • Be self-starter, innovator, with ability to exercise independent judgment
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment: copier, scanner, phone system and printers
  • Previous experience at a marketing/communications company, agency/corporate marketing, or nonprofit setting a plus

ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess a valid state driver's license and functioning vehicle for work within the Girl Scouts of Western Ohio region. Successful completion of fingerprinting and a criminal background check as required by Ohio law. Commitment to making a difference in girls’ lives as expressed in the Ends statements; mission and goals for girls, as noted in the Board Policy Manual.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
