ABOUT THE POSITION 

Is responsible for the final test of all burners prior to release for shipment to the customer along with the accurately recording test data indicating the operational effectiveness of the unit.   

Key Deliverables 

  • Properly use test equipment. 

  • Diagnose issue related to the burners. 

  • Fix any issues that may be related to the burner’s functionality. 

  • Utilize the computer to change or add parts needed for orders. 

  • Accurately interpret drawings for burner machines.  


Key Activities & Responsibilities 

  • Read and comprehend specification sheets, wiring diagrams, gas and oil piping diagrams, and general arrangement drawings. 

  • Use various test equipment. 

  • Ensure all hot orders are completed first. 

  • Diagnose and fix problems related to operation of burners. 

  • Do key flow on computer for change orders to add or delete parts as needed. 

  • Use a computer to look up parts’ location and job orders. 

  • Other duties as requested or required. 


To be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are

  • High school education or general education development (GED) or up to six months related experience or training. 

  • Reasoning development to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed written and oral instructions relating to standardized situations. 

  • Mathematical development to perform the four basic arithmetic operations. 

  • Language development 

  • Read and interpret safety rules, instructions, manuals, order forms, or checklists  

  • Write routine reports and correspondence 

  • Communicate effectively with coworkers 

  • Basic knowledge of the use and operation of hand tools, measuring instruments, office equipment.  Must be able to use both low and high voltages of electricity.  Must be able to understand detailed instructions and complete reports.

Manufacturing Environment 

Shop manufacturing environment exposures include exposure to moving mechanical parts, machinery, tools and equipment, vibration, fumes or airborne particles, motorized vehicles, welding and machining operations, outside weather conditions and exposure to the risk of electric shock.  The employee may occasionally be exposed to varying levels of dirt, dust, toxic or caustic chemicals, very warm and/or very chilly temperatures.  The noise level in the shop can be very loud at times consistent with an industrial assembly facility and may require hearing protection.
