Overview:
As the Packaging Project Manager, you will be responsible to plan and execute productivity, new product scale-up and CAPEX expansion projects within the Lakewood Packaging Department to support the site and Company’s strategic plan, Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures. You will be accountable to complete projects on schedule, budget and deliver on the project deliverables. To achieve this, you will need to proactively interact with both internal and external stakeholders and suppliers while adhering to company safety and quality standards.
Primary Responsibilities:
•Plan and execute productivity, new product scale-up and CAPEX expansion projects on schedule, budget and delivering on the project deliverables for the packaging department.
•Proactively interact with Packaging and Maintenance department managers evaluate packaging component problems and provide appropriate responses to ensure packaging department’s ability to deliver on its’ schedule commitments are not impacted.
•Train packaging line shift supervisor, line leads and operators on packaging equipment best practices.
•Train and transition packaging line knowledge and responsibilities to maintenance mechanics who support the packaging department
•Develop the appropriate critical spare parts and preventative maintenance (PM) program for all productivity, new product scale-up and CAPEX expansion projects. Incorporate the develop critical spare parts and PM into Lakewood’s critical spare parts and PM system.
•Be a role model and lead by example Accupac’s safety, housekeeping and quality standards to help on-going cultural transformation at Lakewood.
•Perform all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements of the Job:
•Possess fluency in written and spoken English
•> 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing packaging environment.
•Possess a working knowledge of machinery and packaging processes.
•Possess the ability to work effectively in high pressure situations
•Possess strong oral and written communication skills
•Possess strong interpersonal skills
•Possess the ability to use mainframe and company owned computer systems.
•Possess a professional appearance
Physical Requirements:
•Possess strength sufficient to lift, push and palletize boxes of finished product, as needed
•Possess the ability to stand on concrete floors for full shift period
•Possess the ability to hear speech and/or alarms through plant noise
•Possess peripheral vision and the ability to recognize colors, and shades of colors
•Possess the physical stamina to walk quickly for full shift period
•Possess the ability to climb step ladders and maintain balance
Supervisory Responsibilities: No
Travel: 10%
Education and/or Experience: Experience working in a manufacturing packaging environment.
