Shifts: Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 4:30PM
Pay Range: $23.14 - $37.03 (actual offer rates are based upon the applicants relevant job experience and the requirements of the position)
The Patient Transportation Manager is responsible for the effective daily coordination and supervision of activities within the Patient Transportation department.
The Patient Transportation Manager:- Provides daily coordination and monitoring of work activities within the Patient Transportation department. Manages the movement of patients and oversees the use of wheelchairs and stretchers by the division.
- Monitors the movement of critical care patients and ensures there is a nurse on call to accompany transport.
- Coordinates the transportation of all specimens, some supplies and equipment and other materials needed for patient care.
- Prepares schedules for patient transporters, ensuring department is appropriately staffed on a weekly basis. Enforces transportation policies and procedures.
- Establishes and trains staff on all appropriate duties, policies and procedures. Recommends personnel actions, commendations, disciplines and promotions. Counsels and conducts performance evaluations of subordinates
- Provides timely and accurate assignment and management of patient transport requests.
- Develops departmental reports and interprets data
- Assumes other duties and responsibilities that are related and appropriate to the position and area. The above responsibilities are a general description of the level and nature of the work assigned to this classification and are not to be considered as all-inclusive.
Competencies required:- Ability to work and communicate under pressure, handling multiple commitments with poise, professionalism, maturity and confidence while providing excellent customer service
- Ability to interpret data and accurately record information produced by reporting software
- Ability to plan, organize and supervise the work of others
- Knowledge of transportation policies and procedures
- Proficient in MS Word and Excel
Minimum Requirements:- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- In lieu of bachelor’s degree, at least two (2) years related coursework or training
- Five (5) years of experience in healthcare, business operations or related field.
- In lieu of bachelor’s degree, seven (7) years of work experience in a hospital or medical care facility.
