Sanitas is hiring a Full-Time Behavioral Health Counselor for our Tallahassee - Killearn facility in Tallahassee, FL. As core members of the Sanitas medical team, behavioral health counselors provide hope, empowerment, and psychoeducation to promote autonomy and self-management in a primary care setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete and maintain documentation per federal, state, and center guidelines.
  • Collaborate with health professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Guide patients in developing skills to manage their diagnoses.
  • Provide educational interventions for individuals and groups.
  • Resolve emergencies and crisis situations.
  • Monitor patients for changes in symptoms and treatment responses.
  • Participate in weekly consultations and case reviews.
  • Adjust care plans as needed in consultation with medical providers.
  • Connect patients and families with community resources.
  • Advise clinical staff on managing behavioral health situations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 1 year of relevant experience required.
  • Master’s degree in counseling or a related field required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Ability to travel within the assigned region.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
  • State board license to provide counseling preferred.

Physical Demands:

This role requires regular physical activity, including standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
