LOCATION: The position can be a remote work position (US based).

ABOUT THE POSITION
Plans, organizes, and implements technical publications activities and services, including workflow processes and costs for electronic and print publishing. Assists in defining and implementing quality measures for written content. Evaluates, monitors, and documents publications schedule. Develops, implements, and revises technical publications procedures and practices.

Deliverables & Responsibilities
  • Produce consistent voice across multiple sites and product lines through maintenance of writing standards, information models, and markup guidelines.
  • Works with product managers, engineers, training developers, illustrators, and other company personnel, as well as vendor representatives to develop accurate and complete technical content.
  • Assist with multiple content creation projects and makes decisions regarding project prioritization.
  • Assures the quality and accuracy of publications in both print and electronic media.
  • Develops and formats engineering drawings, vendor illustrations and photographs for use in publications.
  • Create, organize, and update Darwin Information Type Architecture (DITA) based, XML, and other emerging content management technologies according to information model and markup guidelines.
  • Creates and maintains database and other tools for the creation, management and reuse of topics and other technical content.
  • Receive and respond to inquiries regarding publications.

To be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are:
  • Requires a 4-year degree plus 10 years relevant experience, or equivalent.
  • Familiar with FrameMaker, AutoCad, MS Office, DITA XML authoring software such as OxygenXML, and EDM software. 
  • Experience in implementing, maintaining or using a component content management system preferred.
  • Project Management
  • Strong written, verbal, interpersonal communication, and presentation skills.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to follow projects through to completion.
  • Ability to lead project teams and manage multiple projects concurrently. Project leadership and management.
