This is a Part Time that is scheduled 2 pm – 6 pm, Monday to Thursday, and 1p -6p Friday while Full time hours are available for Holidays and Summer break. The pay is $12 -13 per hour depending on experience and qualifications. This is an onsite role at our center located: 207 Emerson Dr. NW, Palm Bay, FL 32907.

Our Afterschool Counselors guide and help develop our youth in multiple facets of life including academics, communication, sociability, and independence. You’ll have the opportunity to work as a member of a dynamic team and be a role model for children by serving as a mentor and coach, facilitating outdoor activities, providing homework help, encouraging self-confidence, and more. The Afterschool Advisor also participates in outdoor games such as kickball, dodgeball, soccer, and basketball with children. 
 
What You’ll Do: 

•    Promote positive self-image by listening, responding, and encouraging independence 
•    Guide children in self-regulation using techniques from Conscious Discipline 
•    Work with children in activities including both indoor and outdoor games 
•    Assist children with homework 
•    Maintain positive communication with parents 
•    Share positive values through role modeling and small group discussions 

What We Need from You: 

•    High School Diploma or GED and/or degree in Early Childhood Education or related field of study 
•    Start FL DCF 45-hour training within 14 days of employment and complete within 90 days

•    Must clear DCF level II background check 
•    At least 1 year of professional early childhood training/experience and 1 year of childcare experience preferred 
•    Outgoing, upbeat, and engaging attitude
