Preco is hiring a Full-Time Rotary Apprentice in Somerset, WI.
 
As a Rotary Apprentice, the primary focus of this role is to develop the skills necessary to operate rotary presses and produce high-quality products. This position offers comprehensive training to prepare the candidate for setting up, operating, and maintaining rotary presses while ensuring adherence to safety protocols and production schedules. The goal is to progress from apprentice to Rotary Operator I within 6 to 24 months.

With our proprietary die cutting and laser-based manufacturing capabilities, Preco has also become one of the largest contract manufacturing service (CMS) providers in North America.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Gain the skills to set up and run basic jobs with minimal assistance, using web path diagrams, data sheets, photos, and work/operator instructions.
2. Perform quality inspections per Inspection Plans and document results accurately.
3. Report production quantities accurately in the RiteTime system.
4. Log time to jobs accurately and in a timely manner using the time clock system and RiteTime.
5. Report unsafe working conditions to maintenance.
6. Communicate deficiencies on shop travelers to the Supervisor.
7. Learn and utilize various inspection techniques, including visual inspections and measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.) to ensure products meet customer specifications.
8. Work independently or collaboratively on project teams.
9. Adhere to company policies and procedures.
10. Contribute to the company's production goals, quality standards, and safety initiatives.
11. Perform additional duties as directed by the Supervisor.

Job Qualifications:
• High school education or GED.
• 18 years of age or older.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot basic press issues.
• High mechanical aptitude.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs. to shoulder height.
• Cleanroom experience is beneficial.
• Good eyesight for visual inspections.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Rotary press, machining, or trade school degree.
• Proficiency in Word and Excel.
• Excellent eyesight and hearing.
• Experience with rotary die cutting/laminating.
