Location: Cincinnati, OH (CVG Airport area)
Description:
The Production Manager role is to lead and optimize our aerospace wire harness manufacturing operation and play a pivotal role in optimizing production processes, ensuring quality compliance, and fostering continuous improvement. The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire production process, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance while managing resources and fostering a culture of continuous improvement in addition to promoting a customer and employee centric operation.
Primary Responsibilities:- Oversees performance of manufacturing operations such as production assembly/test and inspection of components, harnesses, and installation kits.
- Develop and manage the production budget, focusing on cost reduction without compromising quality. Conduct cost-benefit analyses for various production processes and implement cost-saving measures.
- Lead and manage a team of production workers, including training, performance evaluation, and conflict resolution. Foster a collaborative environment among different departments (engineering, procurement, quality, finance, etc.).
- Maintain production schedules to meet customer demand and delivery deadlines. Ensure optimal allocation of resources including labor, materials, and equipment.
- Implement and oversee lean manufacturing principles to minimize waste and improve production efficiency. Lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of the production process. Provide regular reports on production performance, highlighting areas of success and those needing improvement.
- Address all personnel issues, complaints, and concerns as appropriate. Elevate any issues, complaints and concerns to Leadership as required.
- Ensure that production processes meet customer specifications and requirements. Establish a feedback loop with customers to continuously improve products and services.
- Explore and implement automation technologies to improve production efficiency. Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to keep the manufacturing operation competitive.
- Responds to and resolves Customer inquiries and complaints in the most expeditious method possible.
- Performs other duties as may be required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, engineering, or a related field AND a minimum of 15 years relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in production management, preferably in aerospace manufacturing.
- Wire Harness IPC-620 Training desired.
- Must have 5+ years in proven Sales experience preferably with avionics specific familiarity.
- Must understand, read and write English and be proficient with different computer programs including CRM and MS Office.
- Proven experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in production planning software and tools.
- Knowledge of aerospace industry standards and regulations.
- Must have a minimum of 10 years prior employment with a major Avionics OEM located in the United States.
Required:

- Extensive knowledge of L2 Aviation product and services with a keen industry perspective.

- Keen networking ability that leverages time and resources efficiently in pursuit of business.
- Memory for detail, capacity for managing multiple relationships and ability to judge the appropriate amount of time to Invest in prospect activities.
- A consummate closing acumen and a steadfast ability to prospect future clients.
- Basic understanding of the fundamentals and language around avionics and processes as it pertains to sales efforts.
- Prior sales experience required.
- Must be willing to work a specific region and possibly relocate to service that region.
- For CVG positions: Must be able to pass a TSA/CVG background check to obtain and maintain TSA/CVG badging.
- For AUS positions: Must submit to and pass background and pre-employment drug testing.
