JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Lead Teacher Department: Family Services Location: Riverside Reports To: Assistant Program Director FLSA Status: Exempt Salary Range Starting at $66,560
Position Summary: Facilitates UC’s success and growth in academic and people skills through implementing ORR approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of individual students and by creating a flexible, safe, and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to ORR and management regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.- Develops and administers curriculum consistent with age level goals and objectives.
- Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.
- Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates lesson plans into learning experience to best utilize the available time for instruction.
- Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student’s needs, including student with special needs; conducts individual and small group instruction as needed.
- Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current development in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops, or professional meetings or by conducting research.
- Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, and achievements.
- Selects any requisitions appropriate books, instructional aids and other supplies and equipment and maintains inventory records.
- Other duties may be assigned.

Education/Experience:- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in education or related major; teaching certificate; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability:
Bilingual in Spanish required.

Computer Skills:- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Proficient in the use of standard office equipment.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises employees in the Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Supervise, coaches, and mentors staff providing guidance to their work and learning including,
when necessary, corrective/disciplinary action in a timely and professional manner.
