Job Responsibilities:- Perform work in DES shop facilities.
- Read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics for top drive systems.
- Prepare accurate records on the maintenance and repair of equipment.
- Analyze equipment malfunctions.
- Knowledge and experience with other drilling and traveling equipment an asset.
- As needed, the employee may be asked to travel.
- Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing results as needed.
- Participate in DES Safety and Quality programs.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Management.
Requirements:- Requires a High School diploma or equivalent, certifications are a plus.
- In depth knowledge of top drive mechanical and hydraulic configurations, equipment operations and will the ability to effectively troubleshoot top drives.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Top Drive technician; experienced with Varco, Tesco, and Canrig Top Drives, or similar experience in related field.
- Willing and able to travel as necessary.
- Familiar with PLC Software, Panelview HMI’s.
- Basic familiarity with AC and DC drives.
- Familiar with Generators and their controls.
- Professional Certifications and/or Trade training.
- Is required to have personal hand tools to use at work.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools as well as measuring and monitoring equipment.
- Strong communications skills and the desire to be a leader in service.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Physical Requirements:- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by a 24/7 operation.
- Physical capability to oversee warehouse operations, including walking, lifting, and operating equipment.
