The Part-time Intern Developer is responsible for assisting in the development of web-based applications, services, and websites, from layout to function and according to a client's specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include job duties that are specific to the position.

  • Works with the Information Technology Director to assist with formulating strategies and plans for enhancements to the GSSJC web sites and/or applications.
  • Communicates with colleagues regularly and with programmer(s) and/or vendors to build dynamic applications/sites that are integrated with Council applications.
  • Works effectively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrates a willingness to explore and learn new technologies.
  • Develops new technologies and web applications using programming languages such as C#, React Native, .NET, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, API's, entry level understanding of SQL. 

Qualifications: 

  • Working toward a Bachelor's degree (B.A. / B. S.) from a four-year college or university; Entry level position, proof of interest and some experience and an entry level proficiency in programming.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, financial reports, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must have a general knowledge of business systems and technology platforms, Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word), online resource and knowledge sharing tools, etc.
  • Ability to work from home, as needed, to include high speed home internet access, accessibility to a non-distracting and uninterrupted space with adequate lighting and ergonomically adequate work-space.
