Paschal Solutions, Inc. (PSI) founded in 2000, is a Tennessee-based nuclear engineering company headquartered in Oak Ridge, TN. PSI has a strong industry reputation for providing some of the top engineering consultants and tackling some of the most technically challenging projects for our customers. PSI formed a joint venture, Mission Assurance Alliance LLC (MAA) with Longenecker & Associates, Inc. (L&A) to provide technical services to the NNSA Pantex Facility in Amarillo, TX. MAA is an integrated team subcontractor to Pantex M&O contractor, PanTeXas Deterrence, LLC (PXD) and as a PXD’s partner, MAA makes meaningful contributions to PXD’s success in mission assurance, nuclear safety, operations and project delivery.
Clearance: Requires a Q clearance; however, all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
Location: Amarillo, TX with minimal travel (up to 30%)

Roles and responsibilities:

Typical duties include applying fire protection engineering principles and their application to fire risk analysis in nuclear/industrial facilities, systems, and processes.

Developing and implementing fire protection programs and procedures to eliminate and/or mitigate personnel injury and property damage due to fire and explosion.

Implementing programs and procedures to ensure employee and facility safety is in accordance with OSHA, NFPA, DOE and Life Safety Code requirements.

Developing and maintaining Fire Hazards Analyses for nuclear and other high hazard facilities.

The candidate will act as the technical authority over assigned electro-mechanical fire protection systems. These systems may include water delivery systems (e.g. fire pump and piping systems), fire suppression piping/distribution systems, and/or fire alarming devices.
Minimum Qualifications / Education / Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering/fire protection engineering or engineering disciplines with a minimum 3.0/4.0 cumulative GPA OR a master’s degree in engineering/fire protection engineering discipline with a minimum 3.3/4.0 cumulative GPA OR a PhD in engineering/fire protection engineering discipline with a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA.
Bachelor of Science in Engineering/Physical Science must be from an engineering Accreditation program in the United States or designated equivalents from Canada or Mexico, the Washington Accord, or the list of substantially equivalent as documented by ABET. In addition, the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2 (i.e., Baccalaureate in engineering or related science, 2 years job-related and at least 1-year nuclear experience, or a DOE O 426.2 alternative)

Knowledge of DOE/NNSA programs and projects preferably at Pantex
