Salary Range: $95K - $140K

Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Network & Computer Systems Admin / Linux High-Performance Computing (HPC) System Administrator to join our team within Benet Laboratories at Watervliet Arsenal, NY. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining Linux operating systems and related software on HPC clusters. This role requires a proactive individual who can monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the high availability and reliability of both Linux and Windows-based infrastructure.Position Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems and related software on High-Performance Computing (HPC) clusters.
- Monitor and troubleshoot system performance to ensure high availability and reliability of Linux and Windows-based infrastructure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and upgrade Linux-based HPC solutions that meet business needs.
- Implement and maintain security measures to protect Linux and Windows systems from unauthorized users, manage user accounts, and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
- Automate administrative tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) and perform regular system backups and disaster recovery procedures.
- Install, configure and maintain LDAP
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or a related field; or 5-yrs of experience managing Linux HPC Clusters.
- Proven work experience as a Linux HPC Administrator or a similar role.
- 5-yrs experience with Linux operating systems, preferably Red Hat.
- 3-yrs hands-on experience with proficiency in CLI and shell scripting using Bash, Python, and/or Perl.
- 3-yrs experience installing, configuring, and maintaining cluster management tools (e.g., NVIDIA Bright Computing, Scyld Clusterware, HPCMP).
- 3-yrs experience with job management tools (e.g., SLURM, Moab, TORQUE, PBS).
- Ability to work 2-3 days on site for a hybrid work schedule. (9-80 schedule also available for flexibility).
- Must reside in the Capital District /Albany Metro area.
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry certifications, such as Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), and/or Security+ are highly desired.
- DoD Contracting Environment experience
- Current & Active DoD Secret Security Clearance
