Analyze data requirements and optimize database schema for efficiency.
Database Administration:
Install, configure, and upgrade Db2 instances on various platforms.
Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement performance tuning strategies.
Manage database storage, including allocation, space management, and archiving.
Data Management:
Implement data backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity in case of system failures.
Manage data access controls and user permissions to maintain data security.
Perform data migration and transformation tasks as needed.
Performance Optimization:
Analyze query performance and optimize SQL statements for efficient data retrieval.
Monitor database activity and identify potential performance issues.
Implement indexing strategies to improve query response time.
Troubleshooting and Support:
Diagnose and resolve database related issues, including connectivity problems, data corruption, and application errors.
Provide technical support to application developers regarding database access and query optimization.
Required Skills:
Proficient in SQL: Deep understanding of SQL syntax and query optimization techniques.
Db2 Administration Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of DB2 features, configuration options, and administration tools.
Database Design Principles: Ability to design efficient and scalable database structures.
