ABOUT THE POSITION
The Equipment Sales Operations Specialist I - will provide key support in the development of sales proposals, order processing and equipment shipments to dealers, customers, Astec international regions and field sales staff through all commercial stages of the sales process. This role will drive cross-functional collaboration across departments, Astec sites and divisions to ensure customer expectations are met. Understands and follows Astec SOPs and maintains Astec core values throughout all aspects of the job.
 
Deliverables & Responsibilities
  • Primary internal liaison for the Astec Materials Solutions Group equipment sales organization through all commercial stages of the sales process.
  • Quote to cash cross-functional collaboration with other departments and Astec divisions such as sales applications, engineering, procurement, manufacturing, finance, service and across Astec MS group sites.
  • Understanding and compliance with Astec SOPs for all commercial aspects which may include backlog, bookings, revenue recognition and audit requirements.
  • Develop equipment sales proposals including accurate pricing, machine options, drawings, lead times and freight estimates to match customer needs.
  • Identify and resolve commercial term discrepancies on orders when needed.
  • Product knowledge to recognize and report product inconsistencies.
  • Accurate and thorough order processing including all required approvals from customers, Astec sales management and finance.
  • Maintain high level attention to detail when coordinating and communicating with all parties throughout the entire customer experience.
  • Work with customers and/or freight carriers or freight forwarders to facilitate equipment shipments.
  • Partner with product management, engineering, and applications team to understand costing and set pricing for non-standard equipment that results in acceptable Astec margins.
  • Complete restricted, third-party screening as needed for customer visits, acceptable quotes/orders for anyone outside the Continental U.S.
  • Advise the Astec Materials Solutions Group on developments learned as it relates to competition, market trends and customer needs.
  • Works primarily under the day-to-day direction of manager.
 
To be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are:
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent business experience is preferred
  • 0-2 Years of experience in related field or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of AutoCad and 3D design software desired
  • Experience with Microsoft Office systems, ERP and CRM systems
  • Employee must demonstrate excellent oral and written communications skills and be resourceful
  • Work independently in a fast-faced environment and effectively manage workload
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment with good problem solving and negotiation skills
