ABOUT THE POSITION:
As the Warehouse Operations Manager, you will be responsible for optimizing product storage and enhancing efficiency by designing and implementing streamlined movement and storage systems. Effective staff management is crucial to this role, with a primary focus on ensuring the team operates efficiently to meet customer demands while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
Key Deliverables:- Recruit, hire, and train new warehouse employees.
- Contribute to strategic plans and reviews to achieve operational objectives.
- Prepare and implement production and quality plans based on customer service standards.
- Forecast requirements, prepare budgets, analyze variances, and initiate corrective actions to meet financial objectives.
- Determine product handling and storage requirements and develop warehouse operations systems.
- Develop and implement a practical warehouse layout.
- Establish and enforce safety standards and procedures.
- Develop protection and access policies and coordinate security patrols.
- Manage discrepancies and reconcile counts between the inventory system and physical inventory.
- Identify the underlying causes of inventory discrepancies and communicate them to leadership.
- Identify, maintain, and monitor inventory control methodologies.
- Rectify inaccuracies in warehouse inventory records.
- Provide coaching and feedback to warehouse operators.
- Develop expertise in all operational processes within your assigned department.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Four years of experience in heavy equipment and parts sales in the road construction or asphalt industry.
- Experience managing a large warehouse highly preferred.
- Previous management or supervisory experience preferred.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from various stakeholders.
