RESPONSIBILITIES: The E-Commerce Jewelry Processor is responsible for processing donated jewelry for online sales. This role involves inspecting, authenticating, and pricing items based on market research and preparing compelling product listings with detailed descriptions and photos. The specialist coordinates with management to maintain quality control, meet production goals, and support sales performance. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a focus on customer service are essential for success in this role. This position also plays a key role in supporting Goodwill’s mission and core values by maximizing the value of donated goods to fund programs that strengthen communities and transform lives.
DUTIES:- Receives, inspects, and sorts jewelry donations for quality, authenticity, and resale potential.
- Conducts online research and testing to authenticate jewelry and determine fair market value, vintage status, and brand details.
- Assesses the marketability of items for E-Commerce platforms and retail stores, accurately pricing based on research, guidelines, and market trends.
- Stages jewelry for photography, capturing clear images with detailed descriptions of appearance, condition, and specifications.
- Writes persuasive sales copy highlighting each item's features, trendiness, and value to attract buyers.
- Uses web-based software to list merchandise on E-Commerce platforms, monitoring listings for accuracy and meeting or exceeding daily quotas.
- Tracks and reports on sales trends, inventory status, and donation volumes to support business objectives.
- Assists with customer inquiries related to jewelry listings, providing accurate and helpful information.
- Maintains organized workstations, follows safety procedures, and ensures proper
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of jewelry types, gemstones, and metals.
- Basic proficiency in writing clear and compelling product descriptions.
- Strong attention to detail for inspecting jewelry, verifying authenticity, and assessing quality.
- Familiarity with conducting online research to determine market value and trends.
- Familiarity with internet research and E-Commerce platforms.
- Familiarity with basic photographic principles.
- Must be able to complete all assigned tasks quickly, and in an efficient manner, adhering to departmental quotas.
- Demonstrated experience with online sales listings.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems.
- Familiarity with market trends and pricing strategies for jewelry.
- At least two years of experience in jewelry sorting, pricing, or sales.
- Previous experience processing jewelry in an e-commerce retail environment.
- Demonstrated experience staging and capturing clear merchandise photos and writing compelling sales copy.
- Demonstrated experience with digital photography and photo editing software.
- Demonstrated experience assessing fair market value, vintage or antique status, and brand details of donated jewelry and accessories.
- Mobility: Must be able to navigate warehouses, including walking and standing for long periods.
- Lifting Requirements: Must be able to lift or carry donation containers and jewelry weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Posture & Movements: Prolonged periods of sitting, with frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, mouse usage, and handling small objects. Must also be able to reach, bend, stoop, and climb ladders or stairs as necessary.
- Manual Dexterity: Must be able to operate standard office equipment, handle small jewelry items and operate digital tools necessary for E-commerce operations.
- Vision Requirements: Must possess accurate close-up vision is necessary for detailed inspection, photography, computer and digital work.
- Communication: Requires consistent verbal and written communication, including video calls, phone calls, and email correspondence with team members, vendors, and customers.
- Work is performed in a warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures and moderate noise levels.
- May occasionally be exposed to dust and odors from inventory items.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by safety protocols.
